Erika K. Van Wagner, MHA

Erika is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than 25 years of experience specializing in managed care contracting, payer-provider strategy, and value-based care. Her expertise includes payer and provider contracting, risk-based HMO agreements, value-based reimbursement strategy, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and financial and operational performance improvement across both government and commercial programs.

Throughout her career, Erika has led complex payer and provider contracting initiatives for a wide range of healthcare organizations, including single-specialty and multispecialty physician groups, ancillary providers, healthcare facilities, and emerging value-based care organizations. She has extensive experience negotiating commercial and Medicare agreements, structuring risk-based and value-based reimbursement models and developing contracting strategies that align financial performance with long-term organizational growth.

Erika has also been instrumental in designing and operationalizing value-based care programs for both established healthcare organizations and innovative startups, including Wellvana Health, Cityblock Health, and Navvis. Her work has focused on building scalable operational playbooks, supporting performance improvement, and developing financial models for risk and value-based care arrangements.

She has held senior leadership positions including Chief Client Services Officer at Navvis, Vice President of Strategy at Innovista Health Solutions, and Vice President of Managed Care at PBC Advisors, LLC. In these roles, Erika led managed care strategy, contracting operations, joint venture development, and enterprise growth initiatives. She also served in executive leadership roles for multiple PHOs and IPAs, overseeing strategic planning, operations, financial performance, and incentive programs across Medicare and commercial risk programs.

Erika’s background spans the healthcare continuum, with leadership experience across hospital systems, physician networks, and HMO health plans. This broad perspective allows her to navigate payer-provider relationships with a practical understanding of both operational and financial priorities.

Erika holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Health Administration from Indiana University and a Master of Health Administration with a concentration in Managed Care from University of Missouri, including an internship at Harvard University.

Erika resides in northwest Indiana with her husband and two children. Outside of work, she enjoys fishing, snow skiing, and gardening.
